Greenwood Elementary & Other Schools I Visited on Wednesday

Last week I made author visits to 17 different schools in the Lee’s Summit R-7 School District in Lee’s Summit, Missouri. I had hoped to blog about each day’s visits at the end of each day last week. But, I only managed to blog about the first two days, so now I’ll start with Wednesday’s schedule and tell you about the schools I visited last Wednesday.

First on the schedule that day was Prairie View. It was actually two schools in one with two libraries. The library clerk in the library where I set up my materials was very helpful. There were several 4th grade classes at this large school.

The second school I visited that day was in the little town of Greenwood. The school was Greenwood Elementary and it was charming! Part of the school is over 100 years old. The teachers and staff there were wonderful! Very welcoming and friendly and they seemed genuinely glad that I was there to talk to the 4th graders! And, the 4th graders were wonderful, too! They asked great questions and stayed focused on what we were talking about, even though they’d just come in from recess and were hot and tired.

After lunch I visited Summit Pointe. Luckily, it wasn’t far from Greenwood Elmentary, so it didn’t take me long to get there. If you look through the photos of every school I visited last week, you’ll notice that Summit Pointe looks just like one of the other schools I visited. Can you pick out which one?

The last school I visited on Wednesday was Trailridge Elementary. The 4th graders at Trailridge were a great audience! They asked some super questions!

Does Trailridge look like any of the other schools in the Lee’s Summit R-7 district?
