Last week I visited 17 different schools in the Lee’s Summit R-7 School District in Lee’s Summit, so it was quite a busy week for me as an author. On Friday I visited 3 schools.
The first school I visited on Friday was Westview Elementary. While I was in the library getting ready for my presentation, the principal popped in, wearing a really colorful tie-died t-shirt. He told me that Westview was No. 1 – and after presenting to the 4th graders there, I believe him! The students at Westview asked questions and provided feedback that I didn’t get at any of the other 16 schools I visited last week. I found that to be pretty amazing! Go teachers at Westview Elementary!
But the second school I visited on Friday was pretty amazing, too. It was Lee’s Summit Elementary. What a lively bunch of 4th graders at that school! They asked great questions and stayed foucsed even though they had just had lunch and I knew they were tired and sleepy!
The last school I visited last week was Pleasant Lea. It was out in the country again, but it didn’t take me long to get there from Lee’s Summit Elementary.
Pleasant Lea is a beautiful school with a fantastic library – and librarian and library clerk. The 4th graders and the 4th grade teachers were SUPER, too!
Thank you, to all the elementary schools in the Lee’s Summit R-7 School District for hosting my visits last week! You have some of the best teachers and the brightest students I’ve ever met on any of my author visits anywhere!
