The Working Writer’s Club is sponsoring a 5-day virtual tour for my book The Lucky Baseball – My Story in a Japanese-American Internment Camp this week.
About the Book
Haruki (Harry) Yakamoto grew up in Seven Cedars, California, playing baseball, going to school, and working at his family’s restaurant. As a young Japanese-American, he faced discrimination every day. But when Japan attacked Pearl Harbor in 1941, his life would change forever. Forced to move to a relocation center (Manzanar) in the windy desert of California, Harry and his family must learn to survive surrounded by armed military guards.
